Anerkennung der Borreliose fur besondere Gefährdungsgruppen

Recognition of Lyme borreliose for special risk groups For the recognition of an occupational disease under No. 3102 “Diseases transmissible from animals to humans”, concrete proof of infection through the bite of an infected tick was previously required, especially for Lyme borreliosis. The Federal Social Court (BSG) has now clarified that a simplified determination is sufficient for particularly vulnerable groups of people. In principle, it is sufficient to prove that there was a particular risk of infection due to the corresponding contamination of the insured person’s work environment.

Abstract

Recognition of Lyme borreliose for special risk groups For the recognition of an occupational disease under No. 3102 “Diseases transmissible from animals to humans”, concrete proof of infection through the bite of an infected tick was previously required, especially for Lyme borreliosis. The Federal Social Court (BSG) has now clarified that a simplified determination is sufficient for particularly vulnerable groups of people. In principle, it is sufficient to prove that there was a particular risk of infection due to the corresponding contamination of the insured person’s work environment.
