How the use of sonidegib beyond clinical complete response impacts tolerability in locally advanced basal cell carcinoma: a retrospective monocentric analysis
Sonidegib is an orally administered Hedgehog inhibitor approved for use in adult patients with locally advanced basal cell carcinoma who are not candidates for curative surgery or radiation therapy. It is well known that longer sonidegib intake may be related to adverse events, which may have a deep impact on patients’ quality of life. More data are required to further investigate possible strategies to increase compliance with treatment, reducing the risk of adverse events and improving treatment outcomes. The aim of our study was to investigate the effect on tolerability of using sonidegib beyond clinical complete response in patients with locally advanced basal cell carcinoma who had previously achieved clinical complete remission with sonidegib.
