Arbeitszeiterfassung – empirische Befunde zur Verbreitung, Organisation und Zeitflexibilität
Working time recording – empirical findings on distribution, organization and time flexibility The article provides empirical findings on the prevalence of working time recording in Germany, as well as on its operational organization. It shows that the vast majority of establishments have introduced working time recording, larger companies more on the basis of systematic methods, while smaller companies tend to use manual methods. Working time recording has a positive effect on limiting working hours, reducing stress and thus health risks. It can also be observed that more companies with flexible working time arrangements, particularly working time accounts, than without have introduced working time recording. These arrangements can offer employees opportunities for more self-determined time management. This can reduce time constraints and time stress and improve work-life balance.
