Identifying New Common Mosquito Breeding Sites in Flood-Affected Areas of Shahdara South Zone of MCD and Adopted Strategies for Preventing and Controlling Dengue Malaria Cases in the Year 2023

Flooding significantly alters ecosystems, creating new potential habitatsfor mosquitoes. These changes can increase the risk of vector-bornediseases such as malaria, dengue, and chikungunya. This paper discussesa case study of a Yamuna flood-affected area in Delhi to identify newcommon mosquito breeding sites and adopted strategies for theprevention and control of vector-borne diseases. We have examinedthe post-flooding environmental changes, the types of new breedingsites, and proposed methods for the identification and control of thesesites to mitigate the associated health risks.
