Blood kinship (consanguinity). Medical and religious considerations

In this paper we wish to identify and uncover a reality of the human life that is consumed in the privacy of closed ethnic groups, within religious communities and particularly, within confessional societies whose hegemonic effort proves to be arrogant, wrong, self-destructive managing only to reinforce the unfavourable context of social existence. Scientific medical evidence also emerged that proved the connection between consanguinity and certain pathologies, more frequently observed in the descendants of consanguineous parents, while social and human sciences discovered the phenomenon of bigotry among hegemonic confessions. It is thus that one identifies people who follow very rigidly all ritual precepts of a religion: zealots, devout, pious, faithful, reverent, orthodox, more catholic than the Pope and who do not have anything in common with a man's life of faith. We will not neglect the complexity of social factors influenced by the ethnic and confessional pluralism at the end of the past century. This paper is structured on two layers: the medical aspects related to consanguinity and the way the marriage dispensation phenomenon was religiously valued seventy years ago within the Roman Catholic Diocese of Iași. This is a historical and social reality that has not been mentioned and researched so far.
