Geometrical calibration of pendulum-sweeping satellites based on the detector element pointing angle method
Pendulum-scanning satellites have both higher resolution and larger width. In this paper, a calibration method based on the pointing angle method of the detector element is proposed for the geometric calibration problem of pendulum-scanning optical remote sensing satellites. Pendulum-scanning satellites achieve flexible imaging by adjusting the angle of the pendulum mirror, but the complexity of the imaging geometry increases the difficulty of calibration. The traditional geometric calibration method is often difficult to achieve high accuracy when facing the pendulum sweep mode. For this reason, this paper constructs a geometric calibration model based on the pointing angle of the detector element based on the imaging principle of the pendulum-scanning satellite. The model makes use of ground control point data and uses the direct solution method to accurately solve the imaging geometric parameters of the satellite camera. The experimental results show that this method can effectively improve the direct ground positioning accuracy of the pendulum-scanning optical remote sensing satellite, eliminate the systematic errors in the pendulum-scanning camera, and reduce the average error in the planar coordinates of each region from 65.4838m before the calibration to 17.4275 metres after the calibration, with an increase in positioning accuracy of 48.0563m.
