Conservation and planning design of industrial heritage along canal under heritage corridor mode: a case study of the Guangzhou section of the Pearl River
This study focuses on the industrial heritage along the Guangzhou section of the Pearl River as the research subject. By means of ArcGIS 10.3 geographic spatial software, it examines three aspects of the spatial distribution, clustering characteristics, and linear features of industrial heritage sites along this stretch. Conclusions drawn from these analyses propose a conceptual framework for constructing an industrial heritage corridor. The core concept involves leveraging the Guangzhou section of the Pearl River as the primary heritage resource, integrating industrial heritage sites with the natural environment into a complex system characterized by diverse functionalities and forms. This integration aims to establish an integrated pattern for the industrial heritage corridor along the Guangzhou section of the Pearl River, guiding the inheritance and sustainable utilization of industrial heritage sites.
