Study on the strength characteristics of desert plant root aeolian sandy soil
In order to further explore the mechanical properties and sand fixation mechanism of desert plants, this paper takes the practical application of UAV remote sensing technology in engineering as the starting point, and is committed to providing valuable reference materials for related research. Box-counting dimension was used to optimize three plants with complex root structure, including Caragana korshinskii, Ulmus pumila and Amorpha fruticosa. Through the single root tensile test and direct shear test, the relationship curve between the mechanical properties and root diameter of different plants was obtained, and the Wu model was modified according to the test results. The results showed that the tensile strength and shear strength of Caragana korshinskii roots were stronger than those of Ulmus pumila and Amorpha fruticosa, and the tensile strength and shear strength of each plant showed a significant linear positive correlation with root diameter. At the same time, the error between the theoretical value and the experimental value obtained based on the modified Wu model is within the allowable range, which fully reflects the mechanical behavior of desert plants.
