An even segmentation method for navigation star catalogue based on Goldberg polyhedron
Navigation catalogs play a vital role in astronomy and astronautics, especially in precise positioning and spacecraft navigation. However, the existing catalog segmentation methods often have inhomogeneity, which affects the navigation accuracy under different observation conditions. In order to solve this problem, we propose an even segmentation method based on Goldberg polyhedron. Taking advantage of the geometric characteristics of the Goldberg polyhedron, the Goldberg polyhedron model is first constructed and subdivided to form multiple even pentagonal and hexagonal faces. The analysis results show that the method can not only construct a uniform distribution grid on the surface of the celestial sphere, but also adapt to the scanning range of the star sensor, so as to improve the query and application efficiency of the navigation catalog.
