C.MOYESİN “SƏNDƏN ƏVVƏL MƏN” ƏSƏRİNDƏ METAFORLAR

Metaphors in “Me Before You” by J.Moyes Summary Metaphor is the result of creativity against the background of a full text about human and their desires, nature, history, mythology. Metaphor is created on the basis of various types of similarity in form, color, sound, etc. It can be embodied in any semantic part of speech. This powerful means of description is the connection of reality with the author's view of it. When watching films and TV series, listening to well-known experts in various fields, and reading fiction and magazines, we see how often speakers, orators use metaphors, that is, words or expressions used in a figurative meaning, sense and, due to their common feature, based on an unnamed comparison with another object. Metaphors allow us to avoid a direct, literal description, representation of reality and transformation of meanings. Not only in English, but also in our native language, writers often use metaphors. The use of metaphors suggests that the interlocutors have the ability to understand and see something more than what is said literally, and makes the interlocutors more like-minded, which is why it is so positively received and appreciated in English and English literature, as in the Azerbaijani language. Key words: metaphor, literary meaning, figurative meaning, emotional, figure of speech
