TERMİNLƏRİN YARANMASINDA ÜMUMİŞLƏK LEKSİKANIN ROLU
The Role of Common Vocabulary in the Formation of Terms Summary The vocabulary of a language is a complex and dynamic system that reflects changes in society. Individual lexical units of the terminological layer of a language can move into the general lexical layer as a result of the massification of scientific and technical achievements, while the essence of the concepts expressed by a particular term becomes clear to a significant part of native speakers. At this time, many terminological units lose the features characteristic of terms such as unambiguity, systematicity, use in only one terminological field and function as units of a general lexical fund, bearing a sign of general use. Of course, in many cases, words of this type remain active in the terminological field to which they belonged before, and acquire a new quality and new content. Key words: term, common vocabulary, terminology, polysemy, vocabulary fund
