On the Variation of the Consonant [l] in English Summary Many aspects of variants of [l] have now been thoroughly studied, contributing to the development of ideas about both the geographical spread of linguistic innovations and the development of flat consonants in English. There are other interesting facts about vocalization that could be studied to understand how the [l] sound affects and is affected by other aspects of the language, and it would be worthwhile to study these in the future.
