Ways to use French proverbs and idioms in Azerbaijani Summary In the scientific article, proverbs and idioms, which include human tendencies and have an important role in enriching the vocabulary of the language, are considered to be one of the genres of folklore. Since the purpose of the research is multi-planned, the proverbs used in the modern French language were analyzed from both structural and grammatical points of view. When classifying the proverbs of the French language from a grammatical point of view, it was found that there are a number of features specific to this language. These are the word order in proverbs, the use of nouns with any determinatives, the use of the definite article more than the indefinite article, etc. can be considered. In addition to defining the structural-grammatical features of proverbs and sayings, their equivalents in the Azerbaijani language are also presented.
