Alaska
This paper examined Alaska’s education spending for the fiscal year 2024 and the budget for 2025. Alaska’s funding priorities were highlighted in this study, such as increasing resources for P-12 education, expanding internet access for rural schools, enhancing teacher retention efforts, and supporting alternative education options like charter and homeschool programs. Additionally, this study addresses fiscal challenges, including the impact of recent budget vetoes, federal funding compliance issues, and disparities in per-pupil spending, providing insights into Alaska’s approach to balancing educational needs with budgetary constraints.
