VULNERABILIDADES ASSOCIADAS À SAÚDE DE MULHERES IMIGRANTES

The objective was to identify the vulnerabilities associated with the health of immigrant women. Semi-structured interviews were carried out with 40 Venezuelan and Haitian immigrant women and 20 health professionals, in the municipality of Chapecó-SC. Data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics. Communicational and cultural barriers, low income, precarious employment and education, housing conditions and prejudice were highlighted as the main vulnerabilities faced by immigrant women in the region. It is concluded that these vulnerabilities are associated with the health of immigrant women, impacting the full access to health services, quality of life and individual freedom of this population. It is necessary to expand and create public policies aimed at welcoming and serving this public.
