Detection and localization of underwater noise source in shallow waters against the background of intensive navigation

The results of an experiment on monitoring the underwater situation in shallow waters under conditions of intensive navigation are presented. The sonar receiving system consisted of three single vector-scalar receivers spaced horizontally. Detection and localization of a low-noise small-sized underwater vehicle by its noise field was carried out using holographic processing of noise signals. The processing made it possible to realize the detection, bearing and resolution of an underwater vehicle with a low input signal-to-noise ratio against the background of intensive navigation.

Abstract

The results of an experiment on monitoring the underwater situation in shallow waters under conditions of intensive navigation are presented. The sonar receiving system consisted of three single vector-scalar receivers spaced horizontally. Detection and localization of a low-noise small-sized underwater vehicle by its noise field was carried out using holographic processing of noise signals. The processing made it possible to realize the detection, bearing and resolution of an underwater vehicle with a low input signal-to-noise ratio against the background of intensive navigation.
