This paper first discusses the connotation of emotional capitalism and its performance in interpersonal communication, analyzes the importance of emotional labor in interpersonal relationship and the impact of emotional consumption on interpersonal interaction. Then, this paper discusses the mechanism of emotional capitalism on personal shaping, including the accumulation and application of emotional capital, the construction of personal emotional image and the influence of emotional identity on personal identity. Finally, this paper proposes strategies on how individuals should cope in the context of emotional capitalism to achieve healthy interpersonal communication and positive personal growth.
