RESEARCH ON SOCIAL COMMUNICATIONS: THE HEURISTIC POTENTIAL OF N. LUMEN'S AND C. SHANNON'S MODELS

It is shown that information theory and cybernetics have had a significant influence on the study of processes of information impact and communicative interaction in the sphere of social relations. The connection of these interactions with the change in perceptions of information, with the clarification of its basic attributes, with the development of apparatus for the study of processes of technical communication, including on a societal scale, is demonstrated. It is argued that the combination of key properties of Niklas Luhmann's and Claude Shannon's models allows for the creation of a basis for constructing an analytical model, which can be considered as an alternative to the universal model of technical communication.

Abstract

It is shown that information theory and cybernetics have had a significant influence on the study of processes of information impact and communicative interaction in the sphere of social relations. The connection of these interactions with the change in perceptions of information, with the clarification of its basic attributes, with the development of apparatus for the study of processes of technical communication, including on a societal scale, is demonstrated. It is argued that the combination of key properties of Niklas Luhmann's and Claude Shannon's models allows for the creation of a basis for constructing an analytical model, which can be considered as an alternative to the universal model of technical communication.
