USE OF FERROUS QUARTZITE BENEFICIATION TAILINGS IN THE PRODUCTION OF COLOR VIBROPRESSED PAVEMENT TILES
The article considers the recipe factors for obtaining colored fine-grained concrete for vibration-pressed urban improvement products based on the beneficiated tailings of ferruginous quartzites of Olkon JSC (Murmansk region), composite binder and pigment additives. The characteristics of the raw materials used and the methodology for manufacturing and testing the concrete mix and concrete samples are given. The adopted methodology for optimizing the composition of the concrete mix is disclosed. It has been established that the maximum density of the compacted concrete mix is ensured by its moisture content of 8% with a cement consumption of 25% of the dry component weight. The article presents the results of experimental studies of the influence of the type of microfiller (quartz sand and silicified dolomite) and pigment (chromium oxide, burnt waste slag of the Severonikel plant and redoxide) on the kinetics of early structure formation processes in the concrete mix and the strength of concrete. It is shown that on the basis of construction and technological utilization of ferruginous quartzite beneficiation tailings, it is possible to obtain concretes of strength class B40…B60 with cement consumption of 600 kg/m3 and introduction of 200 kg/m3 of finely ground filler together with cement. Directions for further research in the problem of construction and technological utilization of ferruginous quartzite beneficiation tailings as a component of fine-grained concretes are outlined.
