USE OF THE MOMENT-CURVATURE RELATION IN CALCULATIONS OF REINFORCED CONCRETE BEAMS ACCORDING TO THE SECOND GROUP OF LIMIT STATES

The paper attempts to use the “moment-curvature” relationship to determine the number of cracks, the distance between them and their opening width in reinforced concrete beams. The basis is the well-known assumption that this relationship comprehensively takes into account the geometric, physical, and deformation characteristics of the reinforced concrete beam section. The authors are aware that the issues raised in the paper are debatable and will be grateful to readers for constructive discussion and comments.

Abstract

The paper attempts to use the “moment-curvature” relationship to determine the number of cracks, the distance between them and their opening width in reinforced concrete beams. The basis is the well-known assumption that this relationship comprehensively takes into account the geometric, physical, and deformation characteristics of the reinforced concrete beam section. The authors are aware that the issues raised in the paper are debatable and will be grateful to readers for constructive discussion and comments.
