Applying various concentrations of seaweed liquid organic fertilizer on the growth and yield of strawberry plants (<i>Fragaria</i> sp.)

Abstract The community considers strawberries ( Fragaria sp.) to be one of the most popular fruits. In addition to its unique color, shape, aroma, and flavor, strawberries are highly valuable economically. Effective fertilization is one strategy being used to boost output. Finding out how different amounts of seaweed liquid organic fertilizer affected strawberry plant development and yield was the aim of this study. This study was conducted in the Central Sulawesi Province’s Tanantovea District, Donggala Regency. This investigation was carried out. Tanantovea District, Donggala Regency, Central Sulawesi Province, is where this study was conducted. The six treatments in this study were R0=no fertilizer, R1=seaweed liquid fertilizer (SLF) 20 ml/l water, R2=SLF 40 ml/l water, R3=SLF 60 ml/l water, R4=SLF 80 ml/l water, and R5=SLF 100 ml/l water. The investigation was carried out using a block randomized design. Three plants were used in each treatment, which was done three times. Plant height, leaf count, leaf area, chlorophyll content, strawberry sugar content, fruit length, fruit diameter, number of stolons, number of fruits, and fresh weight of fruit are the parameters of observation. The study’s findings demonstrated that applying different SLF concentrations had a significant impact on plant height, leaf number, and leaf area, quantity of chlorophyll in the leaves, strawberry sugar content, fruit diameter and length, number of stolons, number of fruits, and fresh weight of the fruit. According to the study’s findings, applying different concentrations of SLF had a significant impact on the strawberry plant’s height, number of leaves, leaf area, chlorophyll content, sugar content, length, diameter, number of stolons, number of fruits, and fresh weight. The concentration of 80 milliliters per liter of water more efficiently boosts strawberry plant development and productivity.
