EXPLORING THE WOUND HEALING POTENTIAL OF PRAPAUNDARIKADYA TAILA AND ITS NOVEL FORMULATIONS: AN EXPERIMENTAL STUDY

Aims: This study aimed to evaluate the wound healing efficacy of Prapaundarikadya taila in its traditional oil form and its modified formulations ointment and emulgel to enhance usability, shelf life, and patient compliance. Methods: Acute dermal toxicity studies were conducted per OECD guidelines. Wound healing activity was assessed using excision wound models in Wistar albino rats, supported by biochemical and antioxidant parameter analyses. Results: Acute dermal toxicity studies demonstrated no adverse effects, indicating safety for topical application. In wound healing assessments, the Prapaundarikadya taila and emulgel formulations showed significant efficacy
