Power Quality Improvement in Grid-Connected Systems using PV Cell Array Current Controller
This paper introduces a novel approach to enhance power quality in three-phase grid-connected systems. Our system, which utilizes a monocrystalline PV cell array, significantly differs from conventional methods. It incorporates a Boost Converter, Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT), Voltage Source Converter (VSC), current controller, surge filter, non-linear load, and three-phase grid feeding. The Perturb and Observe method in the MPPT algorithm ensures efficient power absorption. The subsequent stages process power, including a proportional-integral (PI) controller and VSC (DC-Link Voltage), delivering stable power to the three-phase grid for various non-linear loads. The model focuses on improving the power factor, ensuring zero voltage regulation, and eliminating harmonics in the AC mains by implementing a current controller and surge filter. Simulations using MATLAB/Simulink modeling demonstrate the corresponding results.
