A High Fidelity Optical Remote Sensing Image Compression Method
Aiming at the defects of existing remote sensing image compression methods, this paper proposes a high-fidelity optical remote sensing image compression method. Firstly, through preprocessing, the grayscale distribution characteristics of the image are changed, and then the compression method based on JPEG2000 is used to realize efficient image compression processing. By comparing with the traditional compression method, the proposed method has better compression performance, the PSNR is comparable to JPEG-LS and higher than JPEG2000 by at least 0.5dB under low compression ratio, and the PSNR is comparable to JPEG2000 and higher than JPEG-LS by at least 4dB under high compression ratio, which is especially suitable for the compression processing of optical remote sensing images with low grayscale and narrow dynamic range.
