Vibration Analysis of Switched Reluctance Motor
Switched Reluctance Motors (SRM) continue to draw consideration in the industry because of their magnet-free design, natural ability to tolerate faults, and ease of assembly. Nevertheless, SRM exhibits vibration and torque ripple as disadvantages compared to other electric motors. The vibration can be reduced by employing appropriate geometry and control approaches. Vibration analysis plays a crucial role in determining the proper motor type. This study examines the vibration analysis of an 8/6 SRM designed for Electric Vehicle (EV) applications. The radial force was obtained from an electromagnetic Finite Element Analysis (FEA) study. This analysis is conducted using Ansys MOTORCAD, an electromagnetic design tool. Following an analytical determination, the natural frequencies are contrasted with the outcomes of the simulation. An NVH analysis is carried out to ensure that the excitation frequencies do not match the natural frequencies.
