SEZE Converter Based V2G and G2V Technologies in a Microgrid using PI Controller

This study proposes the integration framework of vehicle-to-grid (V2G) and grid-to-vehicle (G2V) technologies within a microgrid utilizing modular converters for DC energy transfer. V2G and G2V systems facilitate the interaction of electric vehicles (EVs) with the grid, enabling them to both import and export electricity. This research introduces a fast-charging setup employing SEPIC (Single-Ended Primary Inductor Converter) and ZETA converters combined together to form a SEZE converter. The design comprises of individual components of EV batteries coupled to the core component of charger which features a bidirectional DC-DC converter. Simulation results indicate that the control system exhibits minimal harmonic distortion in grid current and demonstrates excellent dynamic performance regarding DC bus voltage and charging station stability. Overall, this paper employs a fast-charging configuration to demonstrate V2G-G2V technology in a microgrid using a PI controller.
