Hardware Implementation of V/F Control for Solar Water Pumping System
The paper provides a comprehensive study on the design and implementation of scalar control for a Standalone Solar Water Pumping System. The induction motor of 3HP is considered in this proposed system. It covered the entire system from solar panel power extraction using a boost converter with P &O MPPT algorithm to controlling an induction motor using scalar control via an inverter. The boost converter operated at a switching frequency of 18 kHz, while the inverter operated at 15 kHz. The performance of scalar control in various speed variation scenarios is thoroughly analyzed using MATLAB Simulink simulations, and the results are validated through hardware implementation. This approach ensures the effectiveness and reliability of the SWPS in rural environments with limited or no grid connectivity.
