Universal Modified n-diode Solar Cell Models

Recently, different modified schemes of standard solar cell equivalent circuit have been proposed. In this paper, two variants of universal modified solar cell circuits are proposed. These models are specific because they provide analytic relation between solar cell current and voltage, which is expressed with Lambert W function. Some of the most recent numerical results from the available literature are also presented in the paper. The goal of this paper is to demonstrate that it is possible to obtain universal equivalent circuit of solar cells, regardless of the number of diodes used for the cells' model.

Abstract

Recently, different modified schemes of standard solar cell equivalent circuit have been proposed. In this paper, two variants of universal modified solar cell circuits are proposed. These models are specific because they provide analytic relation between solar cell current and voltage, which is expressed with Lambert W function. Some of the most recent numerical results from the available literature are also presented in the paper. The goal of this paper is to demonstrate that it is possible to obtain universal equivalent circuit of solar cells, regardless of the number of diodes used for the cells' model.
