Power Flow and Performance Analysis of Three Port Converter in Street Light
This research presents design and implementation of a stand-alone solar-powered street lighting system, featuring a Three port converter (TPC) circuit. The system, which incorporates a photovoltaic (PV) source and battery storage is designed to ensure consistent power delivery. The converter operates in two distinct modes: buck mode charges the battery during daylight, while boost mode powers the LED at night. Controlled via Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) signals, the converter facilitates efficient and reliable bidirectional power flow. Simulation and experimental data highlight the system’s effectiveness, confirming its operational efficiency and theoretical design.
