Adaptive Control Strategies for Optimal Load Management in Smart Grids
This paper involves development of an adaptive control for load management in a smart grid and faces the emerging challenges of integrating renewable resources, varying demand and stability conditions for smart grid. By integrating high-level control approaches including but not limited to Model Predictive Control (MPC) and machine learning algorithms, the proposed system optimizes load sharing in response to grid status in an effort to optimize energy usage, reduce costs, and increase the grid's dependability. The framework is validated based on the simulation studies carried out under different conditions such as peak and off-peak, low renewable generation and high renewable generation. This proved that the proposed adaptive control strategies were effective in enhancing energy consumption and supply lower costs relative to the standard approach with reference to peak load and renewable energy resources fluctuation. These issues include the size of the control systems that becomes an important factor to consider as well as the problems of Cybersecurity, and integration of energy storage system which gave an indication of areas for further research. Thus, the adaptive control method offers the effective means for the challenges of the modern power grids, increase the efficiency of power consumption, develop renewable energy distribution on the large scale. All these developments ensure that the future power systems are more reliable, renewable, and smart.
