Students’ Attitude towards the Use of AI in Higher Education

Researching students’ awareness and attitudes towards AI tools is key to their successful integration into the educational process. This study aims to explore various aspects of AI usage in higher education. To achieve this goal, five research questions (RQ1-RQ5) were formulated and addressed through an online survey conducted from January 5 to 16, 2025, with 138 students. A total of 46 statements were evaluated using 5-point Likert scale. To quantitative assess participants’ responses, indices were calculated, including awareness, practical experience, benefits, risk, and innovation. The findings show that students are highly aware of the possibilities of using AI tools in education. The majority also believe they have relatively good practical experience with AI. Students’ perceptions of the benefits of AI applications and the level of concern about AI-related risks are moderately high. Students support the provided suggestions for more effective use of AI at a high extent.
