Characteristics Investigation of Dual Rotor Single Stator 6-Phase Single I-Shaped Magnetic Pole PMSM for Smart Electric Vehicle

This paper investigates the characteristics of a Dual Rotor Single Stator 6-Phase Single I-Shaped Magnetic Pole PMSM (DRSSSPSISMP-PMSM) designed for smart electric vehicle (EV) applications. The motor arrangement is designed to enhance the efficiency, power density, and performance of electric vehicle (EV) propulsion systems. Its distinctive design features two rotors, one stator, and a multi-phase operation, which collectively maximize torque production and improve operational reliability. To assess critical performance like electromagnetic torque, torque vs speed, power vs speed and % efficiency vs load current characteristics, an electromagnetic analysis using Finite Element Method (FEM) is performed. Additionally, transient analysis is used in this work to evaluate the dynamic behavior under various operating situations. The findings imply that the suggested motor is more suited for applications involving smart electric vehicles.
