A Family of Dual Power Path Hybrid Converter for AC-AC Power Conversion
The traditional AC-DC-AC power conversion has two power conversion stages and low efficiency. In order to improve the system efficiency, the direct-type AC-AC chopper and two-stage AC-DC-AC converter are combined to construct a family of dual power path AC-AC hybrid converter topology under the guidance of partial power conversion. Taking the basic AC-AC chopper as an example, the system architecture of its integration with two-stage AC-DC-AC topology is analyzed in detail, and the construction and derivation methods of dual power path AC-AC hybrid converter topologies are given. Dynamic carrier disposition pulse width modulation strategy is analyzed and proposed for the achieved AC-AC hybrid converter. Finally, the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed AC-AC hybrid converter are verified through the principle analysis, simulation comparison and experimental test.
