SURGICAL METHODS FOR THE TREATMENT OF INFLAMMATORY DISEASES OF THE TISSUES AROUND DENTAL IMPLANTS

Goal. The study was aimed at evaluating the effectiveness of combined treatment of peri-implantitis using non-surgical and surgical methods, including the use of Bio-Ossagen® bone substitute. Materials and methods. The study was conducted at the M.M. Maksudov Republican Dental Clinic from January 2023 to September 2024. The sample included 18 patients over the age of 18 with peri-implantation and installed implants. They were randomly assigned to the test and control groups. At the initial stage, non-surgical treatment was performed, followed by surgical intervention with varying amounts of therapeutic treatment of bone defects depending on the group. The patients were followed up for 12 months with regular checkups. Results. After 12 months, the follow-up demonstrated an improvement in the depth of pocket probing and stability of the marginal bone level without significant differences between the groups. Complete absence of bleeding and suppuration was observed in only 23.8% of the implants. The changes in PPD and MBL in both groups were 3.5 mm and about 1.0 mm, respectively. Conclusions. The results show that the complex treatment of peri-implantitis using Bio-Ossagen® effectively reduces the depth of probing and stabilizes the level of bone tissue. However, the complete absence of inflammatory symptoms was achieved in less than a quarter of patients, which indicates the need for further research and improvements in treatment methods.
