School leadership therefore has a very significant impact on the improvement and progression of teaching and learning in many schools. A number of leadership models have been widely implemented and utilised to improve the quality and outcomes of teaching and learning in the running and development of schools in England. Three of these models, namely instructional leadership, distributed leadership and systems leadership, have been widely implemented and are representative.
