The influence of fermented natural feed supplement (NFS) on the quality of kamaras chicken eggs in the early phase of production
Abstract This research aims to determine the effect of giving fermented NFS derived from superworm, seaweed, and crab shells on the quality of Kamaras chicken eggs. The research material used was 64 female Kamaras chickens. The research was carried out experimentally at the Animal Science Field Laboratory, Syiah Kuala University, using a Completely Randomized Design consisting of 4 feed treatments and 4 replications. The feed treatment used was: P0 (control feed), P1 (basal feed + 3% superworm + 2% crab shell), P2 (basal feed + 3% superworm + 4% seaweed) and P3 (basal feed + 3% superworm + 2% crab shell + 4% seaweed). The variables observed included: the quality of egg yolk, egg white, eggyolk index, shell weight, shell thickness, egg yolk color, and Haugh unit value of Kamaras chicken eggs. The data obtained were analyzed using Analysis of Variance. The results of the study showed that the use of fermented NFS feed a different levels in the ration had a effect on egg yolk quality, egg white quality, shell weight and egg yolk color and has no effect on egg yolk index, shell thickness and Haugh Unit value of Kamaras chicken egg units in initial stage of production.
