Clinical Pharmacology of Clevidipine
Clevidipine is a third generation dihydropyridine and is a multiple Ca2+ channel blocker approved for clinical use and clevidipine is used for intravenous management of hypertension. Clevidipine has been found efficacy and safe in hypertensive patients but induces some adverse-effects which occur in a limited rate. Six studies have been reported on treatment of hypertensive patients with clevidipine and three studies have been reported on clinical trials conducted with clevidipine in hypertensive patients. Clevidipine is metabolized into the inactive metabolite H152/81.
