Nosocomial Oral Myiasis Caused by Chrysomya bezziana in a Pediatric Patient: A Case Report with Literature Review
Myiasis is a universal term for extreme infection by the parasitic fly larvae that feed on their host living/dead tissue. Oral myiasis is a disease in humans associated with poor oral hygiene, suppurative oral lesions, alcoholism, and senility. It rarely occurs in young children with otherwise normal health. We are presenting a case of oral myiasis in the maxillary anterior region of a 10-year-old girl child.
