Study on the Correlation between Serum Caspase-1, IL-1β and Coronary Artery Disease in Hypertensive Patients
Objective: To investigate the relationship between serum levels of cysteine containing aspartic acid protease-1 (Caspase-1) and interleukin-1β (IL-1β) and coronary artery disease in patients with hypertension. Method: 121 hypertensive patients (hypertensive group) and 40 healthy individuals (control group) who underwent coronary angiography at the First Affiliated Hospital of Baotou Medical College from November 2022 to November 2024 were selected. The general data of the two groups of patients were compared. Serum levels of Caspase-1 and IL-1β were measured using enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). The diagnostic value of these biomarkers for coronary artery lesions in hypertensive patients was analyzed through a multinomial logistic regression analysis model. Results: Compared with the control group, the levels of serum Caspase-1 and IL-1β in patients with hypertension were increased (P β in coronary artery disease group were higher than those in coronary artery atherosclerosis group and angiographic normal group, and the levels of serum Caspase-1 and IL-1β in coronary artery atherosclerosis group were higher than those in angiographic normal group (P β were independent protective factors for coronary heart disease and coronary atherosclerosis (P β in hypertensive patients have certain diagnostic value for coronary artery disease. Elevated levels of serum Caspase-1 and IL-1β in hypertensive patients are closely related to the occurrence of coronary artery disease.
