Design and Implementation of a Novel 4x4 Butler Matrix For a 5G Base Station Application
The paper suggests a four-switching beam directional antenna array system based on a novel butler matrix for 5G base station application at 28 GHz.A comprises a 90 o hybrid coupler, a single crossover, and a 45 o phase shifter.A four-input, four-output Butler matrix is integrated with a 28 GHz patch antenna to create a Butler network antenna. The excited input port can change the four output directions of the radiation array beam.Based on the simulation and measurement outcomes, the four beams' reflection coefficients cover 24.9-32 GHz with -10 dB and 137o coverage angles. The beamforming switched beam array has a compact size of 4 x 2.89, making it an appropriate candidate for use in a five-generation base station.
