Integrated Approach to the Study of the Topic "The Effect of Currents and Fields on the Human Body" for Medical Students

Purpose: Creation of a set of practiceoriented activities that contribute to a deeper understanding by medical students of the topic “The effect of currents and fields on the human body”. Material and methods: To master the topic more successfully, the authors propose a set of practice oriented activities that include three steps. The first step is to use demonstrations in Physicslectures that will give students a basic understanding of currents and fields; the second step is to consolidate the theoretical knowledge gained in laboratory work; the third step is to expand knowledge about the practical application of currents and fields for therapeutic purposes directly in a medical clinic. Results: The proposed set of practiceoriented activities contributes to a stronger and deeper understanding of the topic by students. It provokes a positive response from students, allows them to acquire the necessary practical skills. Students are creating stronger connections between physics, biology and medicine. Conclusion: The use of a set of practiceoriented techniques in the process of teaching Physics to students of a medical university contributes to a better understanding of the topic under study. However, it is possible to fully assess this only after some time, when students return to this topic already in senior courses in the framework of special medical disciplines.
