Study of tolerability of Amoxiyantar 150 when administered to cattle

The article describes a study on the tolerability of the antibacterial preparation for veterinary use Amoxiyantar 150 (Amoxiyantar 150) when administered to cattle. The experiment was carried out with 1.5–2 month old calves of black-and-brown breed, body weight 55–60 kg. Two experimental and one control groups of 6 animals each were formed. Calves of experimental group No. 1 were administered the drug intramuscularly in the recommended therapeutic dose according to the scheme – 1 ml per 10 kg for three consecutive days, 48 hours later the course was repeated at a dose of 1 ml per 10 kg for three consecutive days; calves of experimental group No. 2 were administered the drug intramuscularly in a doubled dose – 2 ml per 10 kg according to the same scheme. Animals of the control group were not administered the drug. As a result of researches it was established that haematological and biochemical indices in animals of experimental groups corresponded to physiological norms, and dynamics of body weight gain of calves had a positive tendency. Based on the obtained data, it was established that the preparation Amoxiyantar 150 in the recommended therapeutic dose (1 ml per 10 kg of animal weight) and twice increased dose (2 ml per 10 kg of animal weight) did not cause side effects, undesirable reactions in the form of signs of intoxication, changes in the injection site. Consequently, the drug is recommended for further research and active introduction into veterinary practice.
