STRATEGIES OF BEHAVIOUR IN CONFLICT AND SELF-ATTITUDE OF STUDENTS
The article is devoted to the study of strategies of behaviour in conflict situations and their relationship with the modality of self-attitude of students. The paper emphasises the relevance of predicting behaviour strategies in conflict situations among students with different modalities of their self-attitude, expressed through the values of its structural and functional components. The study involved 70 students of the 2nd-5th years of the Institute of Psychology of the Herzen State Pedagogical University of Russia. It was found that students with a positive modality of self-attitude more often choose strategies of “compromise” and “smoothing”, whereas those with a negative modality prefer the strategy of “avoiding” a conflict. Certain structural components of self-attitude, such as self-confidence and self-blame, are associated with the choice of behavioural strategies. The data obtained will be useful in creating programmes aimed at supporting students in developing a positive self-attitude and related constructive behavioural strategies in conflict situations.
