The study of discursive practices in the mechanism of national identity construction
This article examines the possibilities of studying discursive practices as a tool for constructing national identity. The approaches to the definition of identity as a phenomenon and national identity as its variety are investigated. The concept of "national identity" is decomposed into cognitive (a set of knowledge about one's own group, including the national one), emotional (values, views, feelings of a person that they experience in relation to their national group) and behavioral (a person's manifestation of himself as part of the group through the use of the national language, preservation and adherence to traditions) components. The concepts and approaches to the study of discursive practices in the context of the possibility of forming a national identity are studied. The features of the study of discursive practices that help to construct national identity are highlighted.
