Environmental Protection in Algerian Legisla-tion through Penalizing Waste Management Violations
The Algerian legislator has regulated waste management through specific procedures included in Law 01/19.The goal of these provisions is to protect the environment from damages that may directly or indirectly affect humans, plants, and animals. In return, the legislator has established legal texts aimed at imposing penalties on those who violate these procedures, causing harm to the environment or contributing to its degradation. The legislator classified these actions according to the severity of the harm caused, ranging from misdemeanors to criminal offenses.Through this legislation, the Algerian legal framework is in line with the developments in international legislation.
