Intradural Lumbar Disc Herniation Surgery with Intraoperative Neuromonitoring: A Case Report
Intradural Disc Herniation (IDH) is an exceedingly rare condition, accounting for only 0.26%–0.30% of all herniated discs. It occurs when the nucleus pulposus of an intervertebral disc migrates into the dural sac, potentially resulting in significant neurological compromise. This case report discusses a patient with lumbar IDH at the L4-L5 level, focusing on the diagnostic challenges and the surgical management using a transdural microsurgical approach combined with Intraoperative Neuromonitoring (IONM).
