SOFTWARE AND HARDWARE COMPLEX FOR ON-BOARD DIAGNOSTICS OF A DIESEL ENGINE

An essential reserve for the development of a system for maintaining the technical readiness of ground transport vehicles is the use of modern and promising methods and tools for monitoring the conditions and diagnosing its main systems, components and assemblies. (Research purpose) The research purpose is developing a new means of on-board diagnostics of machinery and equipment and showing its suitability for monitoring the condition of some diesel engine units. (Materials and methods) The hardware and software complex "Integrated Diagnostics" was described, which includes portable and embedded devices, as well as software based on the developed adaptive methods for processing diagnostic signals, algorithms for recognizing defects in the structure of the diagnostic signal based on artificial intelligence methods, diagnostic models. (Results and discussion) An example of using this development was presented to study the operating processes of some diesel engine units according to the parameters: a high-pressure fuel pump - the moment when fuel injection begins; the amplitude, duration and energy of the vibration signal section; a turbocharger - rotor speed; rotor precession frequency; amplitude of vibration acceleration of the rotor speed and multiple harmonics. According to the specified parameters, it is possible to detect such malfunctions as a decrease in the performance of the fuel pump; incorrect fuel injection moment; insufficient fuel injection pressure; significant wear of the nozzle atomizer; uncharacteristic sounds in the turbocharger (whistling, noise, grinding); a drop in air and oil pressure in the turbocharger. (Conclusions) The areas of application of the development are: research and optimization of work processes in nodes, aggregates, mechanisms and systems of mobile and stationary machines and equipment; on-board, including remote diagnostics of mobile machines and equipment, machines and mechanisms at industrial enterprises. The main advantages over analogues: built-in automatic diagnostics and monitoring of the technical condition of both stationary and mobile facilities.
