RESEARCH OF THE CHEMICAL COMPOSITION OF COATINGS AFTER HF SURFACING
The basis for the production of various grades of ferrosilicon is the Fe-Si system, alumothermal ferroborate Fe-B and silicothermal ferroborate Fe-Si-B. Ferrosilicon is used to create amorphous alloys with unique physical, mechanical and chemical properties and are increasingly being used in modern industry, especially in high-tech areas, as materials and coatings. These alloys can be used when applying coatings using high-frequency heating currents to obtain wear-resistant coatings. The process of diffusion boration is provided by borating compounds based on boron carbide with activating additives with high-frequency currents up to the temperatures of formation of new phases and eutectic. (Research purpose) The research purpose is studying the chemical composition of coatings applied by high-speed boration with high-frequency currents. (Materials and methods) Powders containing iron silicide, boron carbide, and iron carbide were used as charge materials for coating (Results and discussion) The following chemical elements are present in all the hardening coatings of the samples: Fe, Cr, Si, Ni and Mn. Tungsten W, molybdenum Mo - from 0.4 to 1.2 percent and copper Cu - from 0.2 to 0.7 percent are also present in all coatings. The boron content in coatings obtained even at higher temperatures does not exceed 1-2.5 percent. (Conclusions) Taking into account the low boron content in the coatings formed on the samples, the predominance of elements such as Fe, Si, Cr in their composition, it can be assumed that the formation and predominant presence in them of phases of silicides FeSi, FeSi2, CrSi belonging to the corresponding areas of the diagrams of double and triple systems, as well as phases of borides Fe3B, Fe2B with low boron content.
