REUSE OF ELECTRIC VEHICLE BATTERIES AND ENSURING THEIR EFFICIENT DISPOSAL
Hybrid cars are becoming more and more common, so it is important to find safe and environmentally friendly ways to dispose of car batteries. (Research purpose) The research purpose is considering the environmental and social problems associated with electric vehicle batteries and their waste, improving the methods of effective disposal of the growing volume of expired batteries. (Materials and methods) Have established that the economic benefits of using batteries of electric vehicles with expired service life in recycling systems can be obtained by reducing the demand for raw materials for newly manufactured batteries. It has been shown that robotics, computer vision and artificial intelligence technologies are adapted to the complex task of robotic disassembly of batteries for handling a variety of waste. At different scales of disassembly - removing the packaging, disassembling the case, removing the module and separating the elements - there are various problems and barriers to automation. (Results and discussion) It was noted that the legislation plays a key role in the environmental and social formation of the battery industry for electric vehicles. The creation of new recycling methods can lead to a more systematic and environmentally friendly approach to battery recycling. (Conclusions) It is necessary to establish mandatory targets for the disposal of specific elements to ensure the effective disposal of all key battery materials. These indicators will allow avoiding the use of only those materials that bring profit. To further ensure the high purity of the recycled material, it is necessary to introduce minimum proportions of recycled materials for specific cells in the production of new batteries. Efficient recycling methods will help stabilize the annual demand for raw materials, despite the continued increase in the production of batteries for electric vehicles.
