INCREASE IN THE WORKING LIFE OF AN INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE BY INTRODUCING OIL-SOLUBLE FRICTION MODIFIERS
The study is devoted to assessing the effect of organosoluble friction modifiers on the durability of internal combustion engines (ICE). Laboratory methods using a SRV®5 vibration tribometer and a four-ball friction machine (FFM), as well as analysis of wear elements using the inductively coupled plasma spectrometry (ICP-OES) method were used for testing. It is shown that the use of friction modifiers allows reducing the friction coefficient by up to 30 % and reducing engine component wear by 80 % compared to motor oils without specialized antifriction additives.
